Follow that Business Car!

1987 Inspection Video of 300 Revealed!
During the recent road trip to 300, the President found a cassette tape labeled ‘N&W #300 “Roanoke” Pullman 1917 Inspection 6/12/87 Roanoke, VA’ in a cabinet in the lounge of the car. The 8mm tape was sent to Lynchpin Creative for digitization. What is seen on this video is an invaluable asset that will help us restore 300 to it’s original beauty seen in the video.

300 Went For A Joy Ride!
For the first time in over 29 years, N&W 300 stretched her legs on the open rails. Yesterday’s shakedown run tested her freshly rebuilt air brake system and the condition of the roller bearings. Several successful temperature checks were performed and the air brake system worked as intended. The COT&S is complete. There are some loose ends to tie up when I travel to the car in November.
Message from Bryan Lalevee, President: “After 3 years of negotiations, our dream is now a reality. This is a true barn find as it has been stored inside a warehouse since 1991. The car is currently on the East Coast. After a long overdue COT&S and brake valve upgrade, the car will travel to Valparaiso, Indiana for a temporary stay while we get the car up and running. She will then be shipped to our home base in Coldwater, Michigan to be operated in excursion service behind the Little River Railroad excursion consist.”
We rely on the generosity of our members and supporters to help fulfill our mission of restoring, operating and preserving
Norfolk and Western Business Car 300 for generations to come.
